G2 makes a nice kit but it's $499.99 It says 91-06 may work on a 86? |

thanks for the write up. But I think I/m going with 93-98 ZJ grand rear discs. I picked up TJ Rubicon axle plates 03-06 and will need to redrill them. I will need to redrill the rotors to 5 on 5 1/2 and open up the hole in both the rotor and backing plate. |

Here is an update: I'm going with a Ford 8.8 rear discs. I picked up a Ford 8.8 for the rear Disc brakes. I will need to redrill the rotors to 5 on 5 1/2 and grind the flange of the axle shaft to fit the rotor. A Jeep 86 Dana 44 top & bottom bolt holes are 3 5/16" and the ford 8.8's holes are 3 9/16". that's the best match for me. |

I elongated the holes to the inside of the mount and will need to do the backing plate as well.I ordered the spacers form Teraflex for the ford brakes. $7.99 each.I punched out the 8.8's disc stud bolts and will use them in place of the 86 Dana 44 stud bolts (8.8's are longer) |

thanks that is going to be a big help. I was thinking of doing something like that with the spacer.I was thinking of cutting it in half. Then you don't have to press off the retainer. |

Exactly. Figured that link would steer you in the right direction, for your proposed project. Good luck with it. Sent from my G'zOne Commando using Tapatalk 2 |

I got the spacers, and I took the Rotors up the street to Mitchells to have them redrill the 5 on 5 1/2 bolt pattern and make the hole bigger for the axle flange. |
